Completed Explorer's Gauntlet | Steampunk Gauntlet by CraftedSteampunk Completed Explorer's Gauntlet | Steampunk Gauntlet by CraftedSteampunk
This it the completed Explorer's Gauntlet. The vacuum tube design match my Ocular Enhancers (goggles) as a matching set. I used a mix of copper and brass plating throughout. The sides of the gauntlet have "pistons". They're not really pistons of course, but I tried to make them look like they powered the arm. The wrist has a working flashlight powered by three 5mm high brightness LEDs running off of an A3 12v battery. The top panel unscrews and hinges forward, exposing the compartment that hold the battery. While this battery should last a long time, it can easily be replaced as needed. The vacuums tubes are also wired to a single A3 12v battery under the sundial/compass plate.

The difference in coloring is that all photos, except the one where I'm wearing it, are in HDR.

This was a commission piece, see my Etsy shop for other items I have for sale: www.etsy.com/shop/CraftedSteam…

How much did you end up selling that one for?

$500.00 It was a no commitment commission. I made this according to a theme idea he had, mixed with my own ideas and interpretations. My previous gauntlets I sold for $300, but this one is easily the best most complex one I've made. I was sad to see this one go! In fact, this gauntlet was the reason I learned to LED wiring/soldering.
